The Birth of Genuwind Customs
My journey into the world of music products began at the age of fourteen. Driven by a profound, youthful passion for music and a growing frustration with the industry’s stagnation in innovation and quality, I took destiny into my own hands. I began creating my own music accessories, determined to make a difference. By the time I was seventeen, witnessing accomplished musicians rely on my designs was both validating and profoundly inspiring. It was more than that though; it was a powerful affirmation that the world was hungry for premium music accessories.
From Frustration to Innovation
As I trained to become a professional musician, the glaring lack of quality and innovation in available music products struck me deeply. This revelation fueled my determination to establish Genuwind Customs—a company born from a commitment to excellence. I knew that musicians, above all, understood the nuances of what made a superior music products. Therefore, Genuwind Customs is proudly owned and operated by musicians, ensuring every product is crafted with unmatched precision.

Shivam patel

“As a saxophonist, I’m constantly amazed by technological developments in the engineering fields. I always try to find ways to incorporate them in our art though our products, because at the end of the day if musicians like us don’t innovate, no one will.”
Starting his first musical-product designs at 14 years old, Shivam has an itch for developing highly innovative products. He has developed four patents and numerous technologies under Genuwind Customs. He has over nine different engineering certifications from industry leaders and is a PMI certified engineer. Shivam hopes to create easier lives for everyone from young students to retired soloists.
Having been classically trained on the saxophone at NYU, Shivam is also in touch with the freelancing side of music. He first made his debut with the Gary Civic Orchestra, playing Villa-Lobos’ concerto for soprano saxophone under former NBC musician Mike Carson. He has played in various musical scenarios, such as session recordings, jazz bands, pit orchestras, symphonic orchestras, and chamber ensembles.
