About Us
“We're not another brand built around compromise. We create research-driven products for musicians who expect more precision, more reliability, and more intention behind every detail. Materials matter. Engineering matters. Craft matters. When those elements are properly brought together, the result is something exceptional.”
A Vision Realized
The Birth of Genuwind Customs
Genuwind Customs began with a simple conviction: musicians deserved better. Long before the company took shape, a 14 year-old playing in pit orchestras was designing accessories to solve real performance problems — and accomplished players were already trusting the results. That early response made one thing clear: there was room for a brand built around higher standards, not lower expectations.
From Frustration to Innovation
Continuing his training as a classical musician made the gaps in the market impossible to ignore. Too many products were under-engineered, uninspired, or disconnected from the realities of performance. Genuwind Customs was built to change that. We are musician-owned and operated, so every product begins with firsthand understanding, and ends with a level of refinement typical solutions rarely reach.
Innovators First, Manufacturers Second
Process
We do not start with what is easy to make. We start with what should exist. With a dedicated research division and a development process built around disciplined testing, design intent, and real-world use, our work is engineered to remove uncertainty from the products musicians rely on. From initial concept to final packaging, every decision is made to deliver confidence in use.

Collaborative Excellence
Our standards have led us into collaboration with respected names across engineering and academia, including Hasbro Engineering, the University of Tokyo, UCLA, USC, MIT, and NYU. That cross-disciplinary perspective shapes how we work: rigorously, selectively, and without compromise. Today, our work spans premium private-labeled products, advanced solutions, and sustainability-driven initiatives intended to move the category forward.
Raising the Bar Together
We are not interested in simply participating in this industry. We are here to raise the standard of it. Our goal is to elevate what musicians should expect from the products they own through better research, better engineering, and better design. If you believe music products should work harder, last longer, and feel more considered, you already understand our direction.
OUR VALUES
Influenced by Academia, Art, and Life
Our products are shaped by three forces: rigorous research, artistic sensitivity, and the intelligence of natural systems. The result is work that feels technically advanced, visually resolved, and deeply intuitive in use.
Community Driven
We design internally, but innovation does not happen in isolation. Feedback from musicians sharpens every iteration, reveals what matters most, and pushes us to build features that go beyond convention.
Innovation is Standard
We do not release products because they are merely functional. Every product must solve the core problems musicians face—and solve them decisively. If it does not meaningfully improve the category, it is not released until it does.
Cohesion and Disclosure is Key
Consistency is part of quality. From product architecture to brand language, every decision should connect clearly and hold up under scrutiny. That is why we treat transparency, documentation, and engineering discipline as part of the product itself.
Genuwind Customs — Where Research Meets Rhythm
Our Team

Shivam patel
Founder
“As a saxophonist, I’m constantly amazed by technological developments in the engineering fields. I always try to find ways to incorporate them in our art though our products, because at the end of the day if musicians like us don’t innovate, no one will.”
Starting his first musical-product designs at 14 years old, Shivam has an itch for developing highly innovative products. He has developed numerous proprietary technologies sold under Genuwind Customs and has over nine different engineering certifications from industry leaders, and is a PMI certified engineer. Shivam hopes to create easier lives for everyone from young students to retired soloists.
Classically trained on the saxophone at NYU, Shivam is also in touch with the freelancing side of music. He first made his debut with the Gary Civic Orchestra, playing Villa-Lobos’ concerto for soprano saxophone under former NBC musician Mike Carson. He has played in various musical scenarios, such as session recordings, jazz bands, pit orchestras, symphonic orchestras, and chamber ensembles. He has commissioned over ten works and continues to commission to this day.
